A. ETA stands for Electronic Travel Authorization. With effect from January 1st 2012, all foreigners who are eligible for any kind of visa exemptions will need an ETA for their short term visit to Sri Lanka, be it for business or tourism purpose.
Q. Is it mandatory to have a visa to enter Sri Lanka?
A. The nationals of Maldives, Singapore and Seychelles don't need a visa or ETA to enter Sri Lanka. All other nationalities will need an ETA or a pre-approved visa for their Sri Lanka trip.
Q. How long can I stay in Sri Lanka with my ETA?
A. With your ETA, you can stay up to a period of 30 days in Sri Lanka.

Q. How will I receive my ETA?
A. Following the submission of your application (together with all valid documents), it takes one to two working days for your visa processing. Once it is approved, we will notify it in your registered email.
