Jal Mahal - Admire the Beauty of Man Sagar Lake

Literally translated as ‘Water Palace,” Jal Mahal is one of the best places to visit in Jaipur in the rainy season. Why? Because the water levels rise, making the lake even deeper, which further offers beautiful views of the palace. And what’s even more fantastic about it is that it is built in the middle of a lake, which was earlier a lodge for the maharaja or the king. Overlooking the Nahargarh Hills, this palace is stunningly beautiful. And while entry to the palace is not open to the public, you can take a walk on the footpath, enjoy street food, and admire the palace’s charm.

Entry Fee: No fee to view from the outside.
Time Required: Around 1 to 2 hours
Distance from City Palace: 4.3 km
Tip: Visit around sunrise or sunset for the best view. To avoid large crowds, sunrise is the best time. Also, be aware of pickpockets.

Birla Mandir— Find Your Peace

For the monsoon in Jaipur 2025, we recommend you pay a visit to Birla Mandir or Birla Temple, which is the marvelous white temple of Laxmi Narayan. Made from pure white marble, the place is quite soothing and calm. And when we talk about the rainy season, it is even more beautiful, with a cool breeze and a small garden to sit in. It is honestly one of the best monsoon places in Jaipur for couples, where people can simply seek prayers from Goddess Laxmi and Lord Vishnu before traveling around the city. Visit the Moti Dungri Temple, which is within walking distance of Birla Mandir. It is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is located on the top of a hill.

Hawa Mahal— It’s Not Just About Windows!

The Palace of Winds, or the Hawa Mahal, has astonishing architecture. Shaped like a honeycomb, it has several jharokhas or windows (953 to be precise). What’s most interesting about this place is that it is a five-storey building that is built without any foundation. The idea behind these jharokhas was to allow women of the royal family to watch the busy streets outside. And it is one of the best places to visit in Jaipur in monsoon due to its ventilation. While there is a specified space outside where you can click a picture with Hawa Mahal as your backdrop, you can also visit inside and enjoy the stunning beauty that it has. It is one of Jaipur must-visit places in rain.

Besides, it is a must-visit solely because it was built by the founder of Jaipur, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The fort’s walls are so extensive that they connect to the Jaigarh Fort, which is another place you must visit when you’re here at Nahargarh Fort.
