Plan your travel most appropriately. Find out how you can make your travel time memorable.

- Local buses are the preferred and by far the most economical means of transportation from the Tbilisi airport to the city center.
- Turn right as you leave the terminal and follow the route that runs down the building's side. You will get the bus at the corner of the building, which is at the end of the route (about 100 meters).
- Depending on traffic, it will take you around 30 minutes to reach the center of Tbilisi, with stops along the route.
- Tap your credit or travel card on the reader to make your payment on the bus. The price is 1.5 GEL, or about 0.4 GBP. The tap will cost one GEL if you already have a Tbilisi transport card.
- Since the bus runs from 7:00 to 23:00, you won't be able to take it if your flight is too early in the morning.
Taxi

- The airport bus doesn't operate between 23:00 and 7:00, which is inconvenient considering how many airplanes are coming into Tbilisi at that time!
- Since Bolt is the most widely used taxi app in Georgia, we recommend installing it and creating an account with your credit card information before traveling there.
- You may reserve your Bolt driver in advance using the app if you're returning from the city center to the airport. This way, you can be sure that a driver will be there and ready for you.
- Although drivers will probably be accessible all night, you don't want to be looking for a driver and crossing your fingers when you have a specific time to get to the airport.
Private Transport

- A shuttle from the airport to your hotel or another hotel in the center of Tbilisi is your best option if you're searching for a quick and straightforward method to get there.
- The only completely customizable transfer option is private transport, which offers you a customized journey from beginning to end.
- Most importantly, on the journey to the hotel, your driver will give you a brief overview of the city's attractions while also addressing any questions you may have and providing some local advice.
Tbilisi Public Transport Guide

- Taxis: A practical mode of transportation, taxis are generally accessible in Tbilisi. But before you get in the car, make sure you and the driver agree on a fee. You may also utilize a taxi app, which is simpler and less expensive.
- Metro: The quickest and most effective way to get around the city is through the metro. It covers almost all of the city's central neighborhoods and attractions and has two lines.
- Minibus: Marshrutkas are compact minibuses that travel the city on predetermined routes. Although they are a popular and reasonably priced mode of transportation in Tbilisi, they may be crowded and uncomfortable.
- Bus: The majority of the city is served by Tbilisi's vast bus network. Although buses might be slower and more overcrowded than the metro, they are often less expensive.
Local Tips for Getting Around Tbilisi

- In Tbilisi, public transportation, such as the metro and buses, might not always include amenities for passengers with disabilities. Newer buses and metro stations are being gradually updated as part of attempts to increase accessibility.
- It's best to plan transportation in advance for those who need special help. Private transportation services can be organized through hotels or neighborhood organizations, and many car rental firms provide cars with specific equipment upon request.
- Travelers with special needs can have a comfortable and accessible time in Tbilisi by making advance plans and using the appropriate modes of transportation.
- In Tbilisi, keep a little amount of cash on hand! We generally use an ATM to get cash when we arrive at the airport, but sometimes we end up regretting not doing so. While most restaurants accept credit cards, many merchandise stores at tourist attractions only accept cash, and using any of the clean public restrooms requires a few bucks.
- As with any trip location, it's crucial to be mindful of any scams in Georgia's capital, Tbilisi. Like any other well-known tourist attraction, Tbilisi is typically secure for visitors; however, there may be fraudulent individuals who attempt to exploit ignorant tourists.
